In ancient China, virginity was extremely important to a female. A piece of white fabric would be placed on the bed to collect the wife's first blood to prove her purity and loyalty, or she could even lose her life.

 

The fetish with virginity never disappeared, there is even a category of virgin blooms in many porn websites. Apparently, patriarchy takes it serious as an approach to control female to serve. The value of virgin tied female's steps to the outside world and male is absorbing the last drop blood from female.

 

In 2019, ex-boyfriend used tissue paper to collect my "virgin blood" and tried to keep that as a memory. He insisted that it is very precious and he cherished me a lot. I stopped him from the insane idea and still feel frightened by the thought in 2019. It is extremely ridiculous to enjoy the purity and frame it as a wonderful expectation.
